This policy applies only to shogi.plyyard.com. The site has no player accounts and does not ask for your name, email address, or phone number before a game. AI and local two-player games mainly remain on the current device. Online rooms must send board and seat state to the server so both players can continue the same game.
If you read only one section, remember these four points
- There are no player accounts. We do not ask for a name, email address, phone number, password, or payment information to save an ordinary game.
- AI runs on the current device. AI moves and hints are searched by a browser Worker rather than a cloud game engine.
- Online play requires synchronisation. Room, seat, board, move, and reconnection state must temporarily pass through the server.
- You choose what an email contains. We receive an address, explanation, or attachment only when you contact us.
What is stored in the current browser
AI and local two-player modes store the current board, move history, selected AI level, and replay position so play can continue after a refresh. The browser also remembers interface preferences such as theme and panel state. This is local site data, not a cross-device cloud save.
After you enter an online room, the browser stores the room number, seat credential, and host marker so it can recognise the same seat after a refresh. Protect a seat credential as carefully as a private-room link.
Clearing site data for shogi.plyyard.com, ending a private-browsing session, or removing the PWA and its site data usually deletes local games, preferences, and reconnection details. We cannot restore them because they are not attached to an account.
What must be synchronised in an online room
An online room temporarily stores its number, public or private status, seats and display names, sente or gote, current board, moves, result, draw state, and creation and last-activity times. Moves, drops, resignations, and draw responses travel over a live connection, are validated by the server, and are broadcast to the other player.
A public room shows enough lobby information for visitors to see whether it is waiting or in progress and may be joined or watched. A private room is absent from the public list, but anyone with valid room details may try to visit, so share them only with intended guests.
Rooms are not permanent archives. Empty, long-waiting, or completed rooms expire under current service settings, and a host may close a room. Keep your own record of an important game.
How the page loads resources beyond room synchronisation
- Page and board files: hosted by this site and loaded by your browser.
- AI search: moves are calculated locally in your browser, without uploading the game to a cloud engine.
- Fonts and images: the board does not rely on third-party fonts or an external image CDN.
- External links: another site is visited only after you click its link, after which its own policy applies.
Installing the site as an app (PWA)
You may add the site to your home screen for quicker access. Its icon and cached files remain on your device until you uninstall it or clear the site data.
When contacting us, send only what troubleshooting needs
If you email contact@plyyard.com, we receive your address and whatever you choose to write or attach, such as a description, screenshot, device, or browser details. We use it to investigate, reply, and prevent similar failures, not to create a marketing list.
Do not send passwords, payment information, a complete private-room link, or identity details unrelated to troubleshooting. The site has no player account and will never ask for an account password.
Children and younger players
The board is available to players in general. Parents and guardians should help younger players use online rooms and share links carefully.
Policy updates
We may update this policy when storage, room synchronisation, or site features change. The current version is published here; continued use means you have had the opportunity to read the version then in effect.
