We receive feedback mainly by email. You do not need to write a formal report; provide enough detail to follow the same path: the mode, whose turn it was, what you did, what you expected, and what actually happened.

Put shogi.plyyard.com and the issue type in the subject, such as "Online room will not reconnect," so the report reaches the right troubleshooting path.

A useful report should include these details

  • Page and mode: AI, local two-player, online room, Rules Guide, or Practical Tips.
  • The position: sente or gote to move, and whether you were moving, dropping, promoting, or answering check.
  • Device and browser: for example, iPhone Safari, Android Chrome, or desktop Edge.
  • Expected and actual result: what you thought the page should do and what it displayed.
  • Shortest reproduction: for example, "New game → I am sente → drop pawn → Undo → piece in hand remains highlighted." Say if it happens every time.
  • Online room: for a connection issue, include the room number and approximate time. A complete sharing link is unnecessary unless you choose to provide it.

Add the most useful clue for the type of problem

  • Rules, moves, or drops: attach a full-board screenshot and mark the target square; include the previous move and why you believe the move is legal.
  • AI or hints: name the level and side, and distinguish no response, an illegal move, and a move that merely seems weak. A difference in playing style is not necessarily a defect.
  • Online-room failure: say what the host and joining player each saw, whether spectating worked, and roughly when it occurred. Never publish a seat credential.
  • Display or touch: include the full board and sidebar when possible, plus screen orientation, zoom, and whether the site is installed as a PWA.
  • English wording: quote the sentence and explain how a reader could misunderstand it, so we can determine whether the rule, example, or wording needs revision.

You may not need to wait for an email reply

  • For first steps with moves, drops, or promotion, read the Rules Guide.
  • For choosing a move or reviewing a game, read Practical Tips.
  • For where data is stored and whether an account exists, read the Privacy Policy.
  • For online undo and ratings, read the Terms of Use.

To protect yourself, do not send these

  • Passwords, card numbers, or other sensitive identity information. This site never asks for them.
  • Attachments or executable files whose source you cannot verify.
  • Bulk advertising or partnership pitches unrelated to this shogi board.

What happens after an email arrives

We read messages about this site but cannot promise a fixed response time. With enough detail, we first try to reproduce the issue and decide whether it comes from rule implementation, browser compatibility, network state, or the written explanation.

If we cannot reproduce it, we may ask for more exact steps or environment details. Reproducible rule errors, connection failures, and misleading copy are candidates for correction; a preference for a different AI style may not be a software defect.
